DrudgeReport.com often pairs conflicting stories with the same admirable goal as Fox News’ motto of, “We report, you decide,” and unlike the liberal press approach of, “This is the truth, now shut up and do what you’re told!” This particular pairing is positively scary.
On the one hand, we have the AP story about global warming, “Thousands Negotiate New Climate Treaty,” http://www.livescience.com/environment/081210-ap-climate-treaty.html, a report on efforts of global warmists to replace the Kyoto Protocol with a new plan that will put bigger and sharper teeth in enforcement.
It begins with a typical, leftist fait accompli: ”POZNAN, Poland (AP) — Scientists studying the changing nature of the Earth’s climate say they have completed one crucial task — proving beyond a doubt that global warming is real. Now they have to figure out just what to do about it.”
And do they have solutions to save the planet! Those “futuristic” solutions include, “imitating the cooling effects of a massive volcanic eruption by spreading sulfur in the atmosphere, or scattering billions [of] tiny refractors high in the air to dim the sun and lower the temperature.” The warmists do admit that, “such radical solutions involve risks.”Ya think?
Let’s see now. The scientific gods would like to imitate the effects of Krakatoa, which claimed 36,000 lives, or Mount St. Helens, which caused untold devastation, by poisoning the atmosphere or to play Mother Nature by cooling the Earth with “tiny refractors” to deflect the rays from Father Sun.
After all, whether it’s bailouts or screwing with the planet, disaster is always imminent and we’re always faced with an emergency the likes of which mankind has never witnessed and we must do something now, preferably yesterday, but certainly no later than tomorrow.
Sure there are “risks,” such as freezing half the Earth and killing millions but, Hey, what else can we do, says the IPCC, the Intergovernmenal Panel on Climate Change. The IPCC is a brainchild of the United Nations and was the co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, along with Al Gore and his Inconvenient Baloney.
My suggestion is that all those warmists, whose goal isn’t chilling the planet but is politically inspired and motivated by the ultimate United Nations aim, comparable to Obama’s aim, of sharing American/Western European wealth with the so-called “have not” nations of the world, listen to a dissenting opinion.
Fortunately, we have another hand, those who see through the warmists’ lies and manipulated statistics as seen in the next story on Drudge about 650 international scientists who say the warmists are frauds: http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=2158072e-802a-23ad-45f0-274616db87e6.
Their rebuttal is the subject of a United States Senate Minority (Republican) report to be issued this week to counter the machinations of the United Nations and the IPCC.
There were 400 last year who dissented with the 52 U.N. lackey pseudo-scientists, their number now grown to 650 and which continues to mushroom, and who now can see the light. That light will be more difficult to see if those “tiny refractors” are put in place in our skies.
Those scientists, many of whom are renegades of the IPCC, contend that the sun, not man, accounts for 50% of global warming, that there is no crisis, that warming is cyclical, that they were deceived by the IPCC, that the whole global warming farce is a lie and a scientific scandal, and that it is a political charade.
